CLEAN RIVERS INITIATIVE:
OPERATION CULULUCITO
1/29/2022

RESUME

We propose to carry out, within the framework of the environmental remediation activities that we carry out in the Province of Santa Fe, a monthly meeting to begin cleaning the Cululucito River .

The objective : to generate visibility on the problem of discarded waste in the river and promote environmental awareness through calls to clean up its banks.

Although we are aware that the monthly riverbank clean-up activities will not quickly remedy the contamination, the promotion of environmental education through positive actions is of vital importance for national and international objectives. Generating importance around recycling and the correct disposal of waste is the objective of these actions, with the hope that  we can generate awareness on the part of consumers, making the river reduce its pollution and we can institutionally promote the use of legal and regulated methods for the disposal of non-recyclable waste.
The path of environmental management is arduous, but, working together, we can change the natural environment of the region for the better.

GOALS

  1. Enhance the visibility of the pollution to which the Cululucito River, a water course that provides water resources to the region, is exposed.

  2. Advance on the "natural filters" initiative, understood as the ideal proposal of the Foundation for the natural treatment of the river, in order to achieve progressive decontamination

SPECIFICATIONS

In the first place, there would be a team made up of two people who will have the task of cleaning the lower face of the riverside. This team will have special waterproof suits and a platform to deposit heavy metals, such as iron, plates and covers that can be found.

In parallel, we will have 3 volunteers on the banks of the river with differentiated bags, who will be in charge of cleaning the ravine.  Each differentiated color of bag/container will refer to a specific type of waste, with transport receiving separately the mass of waste that corresponds to the color they carry. 4 more volunteers will be in charge of collecting the garbage in a differentiated way found on the banks of the river, also with colored bags, and adding a wheelbarrow for heavy metals and covers that could be found. There would be quadricycles for the on-site transport of the filled differentiated containers.
